Similar and Different

Dung - 19

Nguyên - 23

So as I have said on our Facebook, Pon and I spent the whole yesterday afternoon hunting for style ~ It was Vietnamese Women's day, so every places were packed with flowers, couples and extra-feminine-girls (you know, in days like this, girls will dress up to emphasize their girly, softer sides). It's like everyone around you was wearing pretty dresses. It's not that I don't like dresses, but well, how can I put it.. like seeing many stuff of the same kind at once, and you will feel like nothing is special anymore (does it even make sense?..)

Therefore I was kinda thrilled when I see those girls above, dressing all tomboy and cool! And can you see the coincidence here? They both wore layers with the same checkered shirts/ blazer! I didn't notice this until I came home and looked through the photos. One same piece, but they managed to pull off different vibes. See, I told you style present personality very well :)

Let's go in detail about the clothes. Dung wore a graphic shirt, checkered blazer and pretty cool jeans with Vans. It's really simple and easy but it works! I like how it was not too casual by adding blazer, but also ultra comfortable with Vans and simple jeans. Also a little bit fun with the T-shirts (she was like: "What about my T-shirt? It's a Super Junior T-shirt! Can you photograph it?" Haha cute)

Nguyen pulled off a more dramatic look with her red (?) skinny jeans (with a peek of leopard pattern) and black boots. She kept it balance with simple top and a small packback. I always like it when the outfit was balance (not too loud, not too simple etc..) ~ But maybe sometimes I will break the rules and do something "more is more" like the legendary Anna Piaggi (no it's not a joke, she really was a legend)

Anw the weather is lovely today! Good day people ~

The most important ingredient

Photos taken by us
Duong - 15 - Student

So yeah we finally had a chance to meet each other and went out for shooting~ And as expected in Mid-Autumn Festival, there were lots and lots of people in the street, in the mall, in cinema etc.. However it's not that easy to find real stylish kids. But since we are professional hunters (who still have to walk like 5 rounds to gain courage to ask someone for photos), we still did teehee *proud*.

Here is one of them. When he said he was 15 years old, me and Pon exchanged secret thought "Oh kids these day are so cool, we must be really old..." Just look at the boy! He wore sort of casual yet elegant outfit with beige shirt, black blazer, brown satchel and clock. But then BAM, those spikey shoes made the outfit stand out from the rest. It's like adding the most important ingredient to the mix, and make it real awesome!

So yesterday after walking around we took at rest at Boo&Kusa to try out some Crepe~ You will pick 4 ingredients for your own crepe and they will put it in for you. Except for the fact that the staff seemed to be quite slow in making crepes, and there was no wind in the air (damn you weatherrrr); it's really good: the crepes are pretty good, the store is really cute and you can watch the road from the second floor :D

That's for now, happy October people x

Sui - 19 - Student

Heyyyyy exams are so overrrrr! We will get 3 weeks off before the next semester begins, and I am having in my mind tons of things that I want to do on the blog. So prepare for some (cool) new things!

I took the photo above of my friend Sui about a weak ago. Sui is the kind of girl who you will get attracted to at the first place with her humour, her awesome photos, her endless roadtrips... and her very own style too. The colour and print on her dress and bag are so fun and spontaneous and all. The overall combination was really cool and has done a perfect job presenting Sui's personality.

That leads me to something I have wanted to say for a long time. You know that feeling when you see an outfit, and then immediately think of someone you know that would match the outfit so well? Maybe it would take something more personal than just clothes, sometimes you have to know the person, but sometimes their personalities just shine from whatever they do, and reflect clearly on what they wear. And that's what so great about personal style, you know, it IS who we are; or at least, it represents who we are and shows it to the world. It's also scary to show who you really are, actually it's not anything near "easy". I think it would take a lot of courage (or even think skin) to do so. But why would you want to be something you don't want to be (oh hello weird question)? So take the lesson from the coolest lady ever Iris Apfel, and stop caring about what people might think and say about you, let them know who you are. (Pssshh, let me tell you a secret, they are just afraid and admire people who can dress differently. Lesson learnt from Youtube videos for weird teenagers!)

Well I hope that's something which can inspire you (and myself) to just simply be (and wear) what you want to be. I'm on that journey too! Also wondering every morning "Will they laugh at my outfit?" and struggling to stay true. So no worries, you have a partner here x

That's for now,
xo
